Qartas Launches First Online Business Verification Service in the Philippines

The country’s top executives and business leaders gathered on March 25, 2009 at the Taipan Room of the Tower Club, Philamlife Tower in Makati City to formally launch the Sure Seal Trustmark.

Sure Seal is a Trust Seal accreditation that aims to promote safe and ethically-responsible business practices on the Internet. As the first Business Verification Service catering to Philippine-based clients, the Sure Seal Trustmark will ensure thorough authentication of an online company’s credentials, from legal certifications to facility checks and other unique claims. Once a company’s credentials are confirmed to meet the program requirements, a Sure Seal Trustmark will be awarded for use on the company website. Certified firms will also be listed in the Sure Seal searchable database, which the Qartas Corporation aims to build as the largest community of trusted Filipino online businesses.

The Sure Seal Trustmark will allow companies to distinguish themselves from online competitors, both legitimate and otherwise. It will also show consumers that a company cares about honest advertising, fair treatment of customers, and self-regulation as an alternative to government regulation. By awarding the Sure Seal Trustmark on trustworthy and reliable websites, Qartas hopes to spread awareness about good e-commerce practices while increasing consumer confidence in the Web as a safe place to do business.
