Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Sure Seal Trustmark?

A Sure Seal Trustmark is a certification awarded to organizations that comply with ethical, legal and trade regulations concerning correct business practices on the Internet. This aims to ensure a safe and responsible environment for the conduct of online trade and business transactions.

What do I get?

The Sure Seal Verification Process encompasses both online and offline verification. This includes physical office inspections, verification of active checking accounts and customer service systems as well as legal documents from the Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Trade and Industry, Bureau of Internal Revenue and your local government office. Privacy Policies and all claims made regarding your business will also be screened. Upon verification, you will be awarded a Sure Seal Trustmark Certification to be shown on your website. This will be linked to a dedicated page at Sureseal.ph. The Sure Seal Trustmark will be valid for twelve months, subject to at least four random checks over the course of the year.

What's the cost of having a Sure Seal Trustmark?

P16,800 VAT inclusive. This also includes all investigation costs, regardless of where your offices are located in the Philippines.

How long does the application process take?

The application process usually takes 10 working days. Since we have to verify your postal address via PhilPost certified mail, we are dependent on two things: the time it takes for the letter to get to you and the time you take to send it back to us.

Why is Sure Seal cheaper than other trustmarks?

Unlike some bigger companies in the trust certification industry, we put our money into the product and keep our overheads down. It is not spent on high-end marketing campaigns and champagne lunches. It all comes back to serve our members and ultimately, the online consumers. We are in the trust-building business--therefore, we believe that it is untrustworthy to profit greatly on other people's fears and insecurity.

How do I pay?

Payment will be processed via Check Payment to our company, Qartas Corporation.

What if I don't qualify after applying?

If there are minor deficiencies--such as a weak privacy policy, or discrepancies in your email marketing procedures or terms of trade--we help you make the necessary corrections so you can be up and running with a site that is trustworthy and ready for commerce. However, if these deficiencies cannot be corrected, Sure Seal will have to reject your application.

How do I cancel my membership?

Send a formal letter or email of cancellation. Upon receiving the document, you will no longer be subject to Sure Sealʼs annual audit or annual membership fee.

What if I change my mind and decide to cancel the transaction?

If you have not yet been officially awarded with the Sure Seal Trustmark, you can withdraw your transaction after you submit your order and not pay the annual fee. However, you do not have the right to withdraw the application fee.

Can I have more trustmarks on my site?

Absolutely. There is no restriction on this. It is your website, and you decide who you want to represent you as a trust provider. On a practical note, however, putting too many trustmarks on one site may clutter the design and make it look less attractive. That is why the Sure Seal Trustmark is enough in most cases.

What if I have more than one website under the same corporation?

You are then subject to a discount on any website subsequent to the first one. Please contact us for details.

Is the Sure Seal Trustmark available outside the Philippines?

No. Only Philippine-based websites can be audited at present.
